Hi Helena
Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you enjoy the blog.
Hmmm, seems I can talk underwater actually, and I've been in this area for over 10 years now, so I'm trying to find a few good tips for you!
My top tip, which I started doing recently, was to just 'talk to people' and with a style that suits me. e.g. I used to load up a lot of my blog with ALL information (which is valuable, I know), but lately I have gone into a more 'leadership style' because that is how I think about sleep now, that someone needs to 'talk' about the industry as a whole, etc. Obviously I will continue with a mix of mainly information and then the general 'industry commentary' with different blogs. But my writers block (if I ever had it) really went when I just sit down to tell people what I think about the industry today... where it is heading, who has good information, etc.
You will have your own personal style, whether it is research based (keep a box near your desk where you dump 'blog ideas' into, so you continually have content - my box is over a foot high!!), interviews, finding YouTube videos that you want to share on your blog and make comments on that.. there is so much that can be fun and contributory. Remember to make it worthwhile for readers.
Another thing I enjoy doing is add some humour, making it more fun for me and for the readers. You want to make it fun for people to get the information and hang around your site. It will also make it personal and sticky. And people know that the blog is not written by an outsourcer, who doesn't have their heart in the project. The blog has a very low bounce rate, so people are coming in and staying for quite a while, and returning a lot.
It's all about service, what you can help people with, what am I offering today that can help them? What is their biggest problem that I have some tip for today? All that..
Good luck. The more you do it, the more fun it becomes.
Kindest regards
Elizabeth

First of all I would like to say great blog! I had a quick question which I'd like to ask if you don't mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I've had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Thank you!
